Cancer Full Moon 2020
Since the New Moon 14/12/20 we have witnessed some incredible astrological events. Including a Total Solar Eclipse, an exceptional meteor shower, the Winter Solstice and the Great Conjunction of Jupiter & Saturn that hasn’t been seen in 800 years. Now just before the New Year we are blessed with a Cancer Full Moon.
It has been an incredible time of change and transformation. Many parts of the world have entered into increased lock-downs. Many have experienced a challenging Holiday Season. Many have let go of parts of their life and are stepping into the unknown. If there was a time to make some wishes, to light candles, to celebrate the life we do have no matter how uncertain- now is that time.
The Moon has rulership in the sign of Cancer, making it an incredibly potent Full Moon. (Even more so for those with a strong cancer placement in the chart ie. Ascendant, Sun or Moon in Cancer)
The Moon has always been the symbol for the Goddess, the Divine Feminine, the aspect of becoming, the cosmic womb that births form into creation. With the Moon in her sign - Cancer - the sign of the Divine Mother. We are invited to connect with the Creatrix. She who is the Feminine Source of Creative Power. We are offered an opportunity to dream and envision our life. We get to go back to the drawing board and choose what we want to carry into the new year and release what is ready to be left behind.
Cancer as a sign connects us deeply to our intuition. She opens our emotional, feeling senses drawing us into the depths of our being to unveil our subconscious. Cancer shows us how to heal. How to hold ourselves in the unconditional love of the Divine Mother. How to shed tears and release suppressed emotions. As we heal our subconscious conditioning we open ourselves to the collective memory, to the Akasha, and are offered clarity and insight. Revealing which path to choose for this New Year.
The shadow aspect of Cancer is a tendency to over give, to become the Martyr. To become overexposed to the unprocessed emotions of others. This Full Moon offers us teachings on creating healthy boundaries, and the importance of self care and self love practices.
This is a beautiful time to connect with the Moon's Energy in meditation or prayer. To connect with the Water element, taking a bath/swimming. A potent time to consider what you want to carry with you into the New Year and what you wish to leave behind. To journal and/or express what you are feeling right now. To open your creative and intuitive channel to receive further guidance for the New Year.
